We are a family-run business with a combined experience of over 50 years dealing with VW AUDI SEAT SKODA

We are a family-run business. We started in 1989 as Volks-Apart, Volkswagen dismantlers, specialising in recycled parts and panels for late water-cooled Volkswagen vehicles.

In 2000 we also started supplying new parts and panels. As most vehicles for recycling had usually suffered front end damage, it made sense to add new parts to our stock as these parts were rarely available as recycled items.

By 2003, we had included Audi, Seat and Skoda vehicles for recycling and also added these parts to our stock list.

We outgrew our premises in Plumstead, SE18, and in 2007 we moved to a 10,000 sq. ft. premises in Sidcup, Kent. This comprised of two really large workshops and a body repair shop with two large spray booths on the ground floor and offices above.

Since our start-up in 1989 we had always supplied recycled engines and gearboxes with three months warranty. Customers had often enquired about us supplying rebuilt units and in 2007 we joined forces with well established specialist engine builders and gearbox builders to supply these services.

This progressed to also fitting engines and gearboxes. We now supply a one year parts and labour warranty on gearboxes fitted, and a two years parts and labour warranty on engines fitted. We offer a recovery service to collect customers vehicles for engine and gearbox fittings if necessary.

By 2010 we decided to concentrate mostly on engines and gearboxes and started our present company Volks-Apart (U.K) Ltd . Due to customer demand , we still supply parts, but these are now available via mail order only, and can be ordered from our website at www.volkswagenspares.com.

In March this year, we suffered a massive fire at our Sidcup premises which caused extensive damage to the front workshop, leaving the building in an unsafe condition. The building was condemned and we were forced to move out. The fire could not have happened at a worse time.

Our engine builders also worked from premises at Erith, Kent, where our commercial engine rebuilding was carried out. Fortunately we were able to move into temporary office accommodation there, and we transferred the car engine rebuilding to the large workshop facilities already at Erith.

The transition period after the fire was a very difficult time for us and and �getting up and running� again was no easy operation. However, we have now managed to get organised and the business is once again moving on.
