What is Xenon Light?
The xenon bulb is a micro-discharge bulb filled with a mixture of primarily xenon gas and other inert gases, creating superior, bright, white light. This special bulb has no filament like a halogen bulb, but the light created between the two electrodes in a xenon bulb is like no other.

 What are the advantages of Xenon Light?

The xenon bulb outputs more than three times the brightness than a halogen light, while consuming half the power (wattage). Not only will night driving be safer and clearer, but more power is freed up for your car's other functions.
The clear white light produced by the xenon bulb is similar to that of natural daylight. Research has shown that better lighting conditions make for better driving.
The unique white colour of the xenon light also reflects road markings and signs better than the colours emitted by conventional lighting systems.

Why Xenon Light?

At least 60% of all traffic accidents take place in poorly lit conditions. Brighter lighting by xenon light means, most importantly, better road safety and less strain on the eyes.

 What is the Kelvin (colour temperature) of your bulbs?

The Kelvin rating of HIDs is approximately 6000k. Kelvin does not equal brightness or power. It is simply a measure of the colour temperature of the bulb.
The K value simply refers to the colour temperature, i.e. colour of the light. A higher K value does not mean a better or brighter bulb.

 High Intensity Discharge (HID) lights, also know as Xenon lights, produce a bright light resulting from an electric arc inside a capsule full of Xenon gas. Many times, HID lighting appears to give off a bluish tint when the bulbs are lit. This technology produces a significantly brighter and whiter light than that of a standard halogen light.

As a newer headlight technology, HID lights provide better visibility at night, which help to improve nighttime driving safety. HID lights also consume less electricity than their halogen counterparts, reducing load on the car's electrical system.


Bi means two, and Bi-Xenon refers to two lights in one unit. Both low beam and high beam are Xenon lights. To switch from one to the other, a mechanical shutter is moved electrically to its raised position to focus the light through the lens for low beam and the shutter is lowered to focus the light for high beam. Rather than move the shutter when the driver wants to "flash the high beams to pass" as they do in many European countries, there is an additional bulb that provides the brief flash of light.

Part of the better illumination provided by the Bi-Xenon system is because both low and high beam use the Xenon bulb. Most Xenon systems have only low beam and use a conventional halogen bulb for high beam. Xenon bulbs provide twice as much illumination as a halogen bulb but with only 1/3 the power consumption.
